THE INSPIRATION BEHIND MARIETTA
While navigating on the coasts of La Paz
in El Salvador, on a boat next to my family, I
close my eyes, feel the sea-salted breeze
on my hair and slowly open them.
I gasp at the beauty of the wake pattern that
the boat forms on the water, for in that exact
moment, I would receive the inspiration for
my next bag at the time,
the Marietta bag.
“Designing has been a life-long
dream of mine.”
7-year-old girl, I
would dream of
creating my own
collection of
handbags,
inspired by the
women in my
life.

The inspiration behind every
pencil stroke in my sketches
is that timelessness behind
a woman’s elegance and
the true beauty of it.
I design for all of the
incredible women I’ve met
throughout my life and for
that reason, each bag
receives their name.

“ P A U ”
After asking myself whether
my final sketch is timeless
and functional, and deciding
that it is, I contact the head
of production at our workshop
to start a series of meetings
that will conclude on
multiple paper prototypes of
the future bag.
When the final paper
prototype is approved, a
real prototype is sent to
production at our Santa
Ana workshop with our leather
craftsmen.
This leather prototype then
receives the feedback necessary
for it to be produced and
introduced into our community of
responsible shoppers.

At our Santa Ana
workshop, our leather
craftsmen follow a
detail-oriented
production process
with a real
appreciation for
heritage tradition,
and for creating a
product with quality
that lasts.
We finalize our process by unveiling the bag on social media and telling a story about who it’s named after.
